“I moved in to the Amicus pilot Veteran Supported Accommodation project in July this year. Having been in the army for ten years I found that being a chance at Amicus has given me stability, which I haven’t had for a long time.

I am really happy with living there. I have been given support in various ways. I have been given help and advice with benefits, employment and other personal issues.

I have had issues in the past with alcohol but now because I am living somewhere stable I am more in control of it. Living there has really done me some good. I am now settled and able to think about the future, about things like getting a permanent house and job. Sometimes coming out of the army can be hard and it is difficult to adjust to a normal life. But with stability and support you can do it. That’s what I am doing now. “
