Life begins at 40
They say life begins at 40, and for us, that seems to be the case!
In 2014 we celebrated 40 years of supporting single homeless people, underwent an exciting new re-brand, changing our name to Amicus Trust and with thanks to the Royal British Legion, are getting ready to launch a new project supporting homeless veterans in the heart of Bedford.
On the 24th November we invited the Mayor of Bedford and Mayor of Sandy, clients, staff and friends of the charity, including representatives from the Fountain Cafe, NOAH, SSAFA and Mind to help us celebrate 40 years as a charity and reveal our new name and exciting new look!
It was a great event and gave us a chance to showcase our new website and brand
“Changing our name was such a big decision, but the organisation has grown so much since we started as a soup kitchen in 1974 and our 40th year felt like the right time to choose a name that better describes what we do now.” Janet Prince, CEO of Amicus Trust explained “Amicus is about friendship and support, which we think really captures what we are about” Janet continued “ it’s great to have both the Mayors with us as we work across Bedfordshire and really appreciate their support”
