The Stepping Stones Education and Employment project can support homeless adults in gaining basic skills, learning independent living skills and also working towards getting into employment.  

Interested in building new skills or getting into employment?

Gaining new skills or getting back to employment can be difficult when you are experiencing homelessness, the Stepping Stones Project recognises this and creates a flexible one-to-one service that works to meet the specific needs of each individual. 

With the support of a dedicated Outreach Worker, one-to-one support aims to re-build your confidence and create personalised support to help you develop the skills you need to live independently, get a job or progress towards further training/education.

Support is tailored to your needs, but broadly comprises;

  • Improving basic and functional skills;
    • using a computer
    • reading and writing
    • maths
    • job applications
    • writing cvs
    • job searches
    • budgeting 
    • running a home 
  • Increasing confidence through;
    • Suitable volunteering opportunities
    • Skills assessments
    • Mentoring and support
  • Advice and Guidance in;
    • Finding and applying for jobs
    • Accessing support from other education and employment agencies
    • Finding support for other impacting needs
